Hej, my name is Malin! I am a second year bachelor student at Business Development and Entrepreneurship for Construction and Property here at Chalmers University of Technology. If you have any type of questions or wonderings about Gothenburg or the West Coast, come to me! I am a self-declared expert in that area considering I grew up on an island in the Northern archipelago and have spent most of my time here in Gothenburg. Remember, always feel free to contact CIRC if you need our help. We are here for you! Welcome to Chalmers!

So, allow me to tell you a story.
“There was this Portuguese dude from Porto that likes to challenge himself and that, pretty much like you, decided to get out of his comfort zone and travel some thousands of km (2.354 to be precise) towards the unknown town of Göteborg and to live there for a thousand days.
Upon arrival, a warm welcome was expecting him. This bunch of yellow t-shirt villagers – whom the natives call “phadders” – led by a bunch of blue pants elders known as “CIRC”, prepared a bunch of stuff for him and his fellow travellers: feasts and activities, tours on the surroundings, lessons on the ancient art of being Svenska, and – the most important for him – prevented him from feeling homesick.
Half a year and many experiences later, this guy decided to join the elder tribe and to make an attempt on providing the same (or better) experiences to the new newcomers.”
Will he and his tribe fellows succeed? Can you help me finding out?
Lalitha Burra
Role: Secretary
Department: Product Development
Nationality: Indian
Languages: English, Hindi, learning Swedish and German
Hi!
I’m Lalitha and I’m from a city called Bangalore in India. I came to Sweden in August 2011, beforewhich I lived in the same city for all my life. I wanted to take myself out of my comfortable and familiar life and put myself in a place that would help me have whole new experiences. My first few weeks in Sweden, which could’ve either been awful or awesome, turned out to be really awe some thanks to the warm welcome I got from CIRC. I joined CIRC because I wanted to be able to give back what I got out of CIRC and more. I’m excited about having new experiences and trying new and sometimes, outrageous things. I am known to be impulsive, have no constant likes, and I’m in love with something new every day
Welcome to Sweden and hope you have a great time here at Chalmers!
David Åstrom
Role: Treasurer
Department: Physics
Nationality: Swedish
Languages: Swedish, English
My name is David. I study first year at the Master programme in Nuclear Engineering at Chalmers. Before that I was studying Mechanical Engineering at Lund University in the south of Sweden. This part of Sweden is also where I come from. As a new master student at Chalmers (although not international) I participated in the activities of CIRC to make some new friends and get to now a place that was (almost) completely new for me. I found this interesting, especially meeting people from other countries and I did get to know that they where recruiting new people for the committee as they do every autumn. So I felt that this is something that I want to do (which I still feel today) and got elected for the treasurer place. So if you feel that you want to be a part of CIRC you could either be a phadder for the autumn reception (recruitment this spring) or/and be in the board of CIRC (recruitment next autumn).
Nicola Crovato
Role: Phadder Manager & Public Relations
Department: Nanotechnology
Nationality: Italian
Languages: Italiano, English, lite Svenska
“Hi there! I am Nicola and I am from Italy. I am studying Nanotechnology in Chalmers University and this makes me kinda of a nerd . Before coming to Sweden I got my graduation in Material Science. I moved to Sweden cause I wanted an international education and to learn new languages. At the time I was a new student here in Chalmers CIRC took care of me and thank to it I met a lot of friends.
So I decided to take part of it so I can teach what I had been taught. Since then I have been learning a lot. This is a great experience for expanding your knowledge and being helpful for someone. I am very interested in science and photography. You will probably see me around the campus with my camera in my hands . I do like music as well, I actually used to play the bass guitar in several bands with different genres. I do computer gaming and if you don’t find me in campus you probably may find me playing online on Steam (add me if you want mr_krova). I like talking to people and listening to their stories. I think everybody has got a story to tell. So if you meet me around stop me or feel free to visit us at CIRC office! We could have a “fika” together .
So guys and girls you are very welcome to Chalmers university and I hope you will enjoy CIRC as much as I do!!!!!11!!1!!!10one0101!!11eleven!!1!!1100!”

About me? When I moved to Sweden I loved everything about it. My first few months was not just comfortable, they were as good as the best times I had ever had. I am sure my experience have been great because of the people I have met and my friends. They are always there to help me, talk to me (listen to me talk as well), to do things together, to party and to explore Chalmers and Göteborg! I intend to recreate this experience for every student who comes to Chalmers. Something about myself, I am studying Product Development in the Mechanical section and I enjoy it very much. I enjoy spending time with friends, watching or playing sports, cooking and going out. Confession: I have often thought that I know more than what I actually do! And it makes me very happy to share whatever I know. (which sometimes is not even helpful to the other person!) I am very excited to meet the new Chalmerists! If you find me anywhere, please say Hi if you have the time and I will do the same.
