Here is some information about the CIRC events during the Autumn Reception period.
We are excited to meet you!
We will be waiting for you at Landvetter Airport between 09h00 and 20h00. Bring your best smiles and excitement for the reception period.
We will meet you at the airport on 23rd of August, guide you towards and provide a ticket for the bus to the city. Get ready for the beginning of many memories to come.
Get to know where you will be studying with a tour through our beautiful facilities here on campus. We will have Phadder group schedules in order to keep our campus from getting too crowded- and so keep in touch with your Phadder group for your starting location and times.
Explore the city in style! Race around the city solving clues, tagging locations and completing challenges! Prizes are up for grabs so get ready! Style and exploration are the name of the game. The winner is based on style, so challenges are the path to the top. The winning time will also not be the fastest but rather closest to the time chosen by a lucky draw so take it easy and enjoy the day. Get a feel for the city, make full use of our lovely public transport and experience beautiful Gothenburg. You will meet your Phadder group outside the Chalmers Studentkår building at 11h00. Keep up with your Phadder for further details.
We will explore the city waterways the best way we know how- out on the water with some live music keeping us entertained as we float into the beautiful Autumn night. Bring something you love to drink, a snack or two as well as something a bit warmer along for the ride. We will meet at Feskekörkan where the boat takes off from and float away into the evening.
CIRC and ESN are going to hit the town and take over the bowling lanes. Bring your best bowling arm and have some a great evening with us while you show us how you strike. We will do a bit of bowling, play some games and generally have a great evening at the bar with our lovely fellow Chalmerists. The bowling lanes are at the Mölndalsvägen O’Learys and so meet up at the venue.
Grill Grill Grill!
Get those coals on the go and grill to your hearts content with your Phadder groups. In Sweden when the sun is out the grill is never too far away, so get those sausages sizzling. Your Phadders will provide further details and arrangements for your group.
Are you ready for special ops Sweden edition? Laser tag is tactical, fast and you have got to be accurate. Teams will go head to head in our complex, specially designed laser tag arena. Meet at the Gothenburg Laserdome at 17h40.
Friluftsliv is something the Swedish hold very dear! You haven’t heard of that you say? Well look it up why don’t you? Gothenburg is a city with friluftsliv so accessible and close to its heart- so take a hike and experience what the Swedes love so much about being outdoors. Give it a go and fall in love with our beautiful nature. Take along good snacks, great stories and even better people. We will have some recommendations for the best spots, so keep up to date with CIRC and your Phadders.
CIRC Orientation Day
We will touch base with everyone on Zoom before the excitement really kicks off, to get across to you some important information to keep in mind through the reception period. We will be able to get you in tune with how the events will run, how your Phadder groups will work, how to enjoy the experience to the fullest and what you should make sure to keep in mind as we enter the new year at Chalmers. Please make sure to join us so you don’t miss out on any crucial information before we get started.
Come relax with us in Gothenburg’s amazing Slottskogen park. CIRC and ESN will be there on the lawns on the Azaleadan side to enjoy the day with you from 14h00. Chill out, play some games, catch some rays and meet all your fellow Chalmerists. Autumn is a beautiful time of the year and the park is sure to keep us spoiled with its beauty and fun atmosphere. Bring good vibes and anything you may think you need for a day of fun in the sun. Keep up to date with your Phadders to arrive and start the day as a group.
Some of Gothenburg’s most amazing scenery is just a ferry away in the archipelago. Explore this beautiful part of Gothenburg with a day trip. Take some snacks, a good pair of shoes and a good spirit! Your Phadders will be out exploring with you so keep up to date with all plans through them.
Lake Day and Canoeing
Delsjön is one of Gothenburg’s very own slices of paradise. A beautiful lake surrounded by lush forest, loads of berries on the forest floor and an atmosphere to rival any other. We will have tickets available for sessions on a canoe to explore the lake itself. Take the canoe in a pair to an island for lunch, race it around the perimeter, explore every rock and every shore of the lake- the choice is up to you. Enjoy the ride on the canoe- and make sure to enjoy the lake and its surround for the rest of the day too!
Join in on a Swedish tradition known and loved. Catch a drink at the bar after a long day to blow off some steam and catch up on great stories. Plan the next adventures and enjoy the evening. Teach each other your favourite games at the bar, bring your best stories and be ready to have a great time!
CIRC’ly Come Dancing
Dance into the evening with CIRC! We will be hosting you for a dance adventure session full of fun, laughs and hopefully not too many toe bumps… There is something magical about dancing next to the river, dancing in the rain, dancing with a friend or dancing the night away. Learn with us and our lovely dance instructors. We guarantee great fun and a good laugh with a set of skills you can show off to be learned along the way.
The Chalmers Bastu is a big part of the Chalmers student life and a must for every Chalmerist. Have you taken a sauna before? Either way we are going to have a blast out in the sauna situated right on a lake. Sauna, hike and dip the weekend away. We have a couple of slots through the weekend. Make sure to bring long pants, closed shoes as well as a swimming attire with you! Why you may ask?? Well I guess you will just have to see…
Exploring international cuisine can open the world to both your palette as well as your recipe book. Share recipes, cook with your fellow students and share an unforgettable dinner experience with your Phadder group to end off the reception. You will get the opportunity to host your own flavour bonanza- get together at someone’s apartment for dinner, make it a lunch in the park, at the sea or anywhere you would love to spend time exploring your own culture with your Phadder groups and friends.
