Here is some information about the Events organized by CIRC during the Reception Period.
It’s time to bowl! We will have a bowling alley booked for all of you where you can bowl the night out with your new friends and have a great time.
On this day, you will get the grand tour of the Campus, learn some fun facts and hopefully pick up some Chalmers jargon by the end. Come and find out where your lectures will be held, where can you grab a quick lunch, get some fika, buy your course material, find a quiet place to study or cool off after a long day.
Are you ready for an otherworldly laser battle? During this event, two teams will fight to the last shot in an exciting arena spanning two floors. Over the 30 minutes of battle, the adrenaline level will soar sky-high and reflexes will be put to the test!
It is a city tour designed to help you explore the city of Gothenburg with your new friends while solving riddles, taking lots of pictures, and making some fun memories.
Partying is fun, but what about partying in a train wagon!! At Chalmers, we have a train wagon just for parties. It is one of the most fun and unique party venues on campus. This is the first train party of the semester and it is a Chalmers tradition, so make sure to get a ticket before they run out!
It’s one of the most appreciated “non-traditional traditions”, which people and students in this country have grown fond of. Every Friday, some pubs and restaurants have Afterwork specials with a free buffet and happy hour prices in the bar. Your phadders will accompany you and show you some of the trendiest bars the city has to offer!
What is a Sauna?
Well, a sauna is basically a small cabin which has a heating facility. This enables the cabin to have raised levels of temperature, usually in the order of 70 – 90°C. We must mention that Chalmers owns one of the biggest wood fired saunas in all of Scandinavia. This monster can seat up to 60 people at the same time!
So, What is a “Sauna Trip”?
For this trip you will leave from Chalmers on a bus and travel about 45 minutes to a beautiful lake called Sandsjön, East of Gothenburg. The Sauna sits on the very edge of the lake, so you can swim as well! The Sauna is in a cosy cabin that has a kitchen and dining area with a fireplace.
After you get there, you will have fun playing some games and chopping wood for the Sauna or maybe jumping in the lake, after which you can enjoy the Sauna.
Would you like to taste food from all over the world? The international dinner is your event then! Every participant cooks and brings a dish from their native country. It is a potluck with a wide variety of food options from different countries.
We will also focus on socializing and getting to know each other’s culture. Everyone is welcome to use the open stage to sing some traditional songs or maybe even share some funny stereotypes from their countries (the world is your oyster literally).
Info: Please be aware of allergies and food preferences while making your food and if you can substitute an ingredient to another one that more people can enjoy, it would be much appreciated! Also please note that due to restrictions, this is a non-alcoholic event and any kind of alcohol is not permitted!
