Who can join the reception events?
All newly admitted master’s and exchange students are welcome!

Phadders
What is a Phadder?
A Phadder is a current/previously enrolled Chalmers student who volunteers to guide a group of new students during the reception period. They help you get oriented, answer questions, and make your first weeks fun and friendly.
How do I know who my Phadder is?
You will be assigned to a Phadder group before or during Arrival Week. You’ll receive an email with details.
Can I become a Phadder in the future?
Yes! We open Phadder applications before each reception period. Keep an eye on our announcements if you’re interested.
Events
What kinds of events are organized?
CIRC is bringing you the ultimate welcome experience! From meet & mingles, campus and city tours to canoeing, sauna, bowling, laser tag, and international dinners. There’s a ton lined up to help you settle in, make friends, and have fun. Check out the calendar and join us!
Are the events free?
Most events are free, but a few may have a small fee to cover costs (e.g., for venue or transport). Information is available on the website. We’ll always let you know in advance.
Do I have to attend all events?
Not at all! Attend the ones you’re interested in, there’s no obligation. But the more you join, the more people you’ll meet!
Arrival
What should I do first when I arrive?
First, make sure to attend the university’s Orientation and our campus tour days. Complete all necessary steps mentioned in the University’s website.
I’m arriving late, can I still join?
Yes! Even if you miss the first few events, you’re welcome to join at any point during the reception period. Please make sure you sign up.
Accommodation
Does the committee help with finding accommodation?
We do not arrange housing, but we can provide tips or guide you to the right team/individual. We organize events where you can meet potential flatmates.
What should I do if I haven’t found housing yet?
Contact university’s housing office and check verified housing platforms. Avoid scams, never pay before signing a legitimate contract. Feel free to ask us for guidance.
