smoothly with these curated tips from managing your academic tasks in Ladok to settling into student lifel.
Getting Your CID & Registering in Ladok
- Go to MyAccount portal.
- Log in using eduID, BankID, or universityadmissions.se.
- Click “Activate CID” and set your password.
- After ~2 hours, log in to Ladok with your restricted CID.
- Register for your course in Ladok → this activates your student account.
- Full digital access granted within ~8 hours after registration.
What is Ladok?
Ladok is the national student system for course registration, grade viewing, and exam sign-ups. You must register in Ladok to retain your study spot and participate in courses and exams.
Registration Window: Opens 3 weeks before the study period and closes on the 2nd Tuesday of the period.
Confirming Campus Presence
All new international students without a Swedish ID must visit Kårhuset (Student Union Building) to show their valid passport or national ID in person during the specified check-in period.
Mandatory Step: Not doing this in time will result in losing your admission at Chalmers.

Student Union Card (SU Card)
️ The SU card is your access pass to Chalmers buildings, computer labs, libraries, and more. It also functions as a digital wallet for on-campus payments (cafeteria, etc.).
- Distributed during the Campus Tour.
- Activate & load the card.
- Required for writing exams & participating in student activities.
- Membership fee is included for tuition-paying students.
Note: Non-EU/EEA students get their card only after campus presence is confirmed.
