What or Who is a PHADDER?
Literally, the word Phadder (plural “Phaddrar”) means “god-father”/”god-parent” spelled with a “Ph” to sound cool (Sw. “fadder”/”faddrar”). It can be loosely interpreted as a College Parent. A Phadder is a friend/god-father/god-mother to new students at Chalmers.
A phadder is basically either a current student at Chalmers or an alumni. He/she has finished or completed 6 months – 1 year of studies at Chalmers and has volunteered to help new students. Typically a Phadder is a kind and social person interested in giving a helping hand to new students and making friends with people from various different countries and cultures.
